Dipl.-Ing. ARNO ESSER
Mr. Esser studied mechanical engineering with specialization in construction at the Rheinische Fachhochschule Cologne, he completed his studies in 1977.
He started his occupational career in 1977 as a production engineer in the department of operation of the AVR Jülich GmbH. For the operation of the facility he completed an apprenticeship as shift supervisor in 1979. In 1982 he was responsible for the operation and maintenance of mechanical equipment and he managed the group machine technology. His tasks included planning and coordination of inspection during the cut off periods. Mr. Esser overstrained in 1994 the management of the organizing unit of mechanical technology / construction, he became the representative of the facility manager. After the issuance of the decommissioning approval in 1994, he also became the project manager for the post operational phase and the construction of the safe enclosure.
After the assumption of the AVR by the Energiewerke Nord GmbH in 2003, he moved to the project management in 2004 and supervised the dismantling of the research reactor and the interface coordination between the old and new facility. From 2007 to 2013 he served as the facility manager. In this position he was responsible for all dismantling and decommissioning activities. Currently and during his part-time retirement, Mr. Esser is acting as an consultant for the AVR GmbH.
