In this module, the individual steps by which a nuclear facility is removed from the jurisdiction of the German Atomic Energy Act are discussed. In this process, strict constraints apply not only to the dismantling and decommissioning of nuclear facilities, but also to the disposal of radioactive waste. These constraints will be discussed in detail in this module.
The technologies that are implemented during the decommissioning phase for decontamination, teardown and dismantling tasks, including approval measurements, will be described in detail. The presenters will explain the requirements imposed on project planning and management, also the legal boundary conditions for decommissioning nuclear facilities.
