TRAININGS IN SCHOOLS
The AiNT team supports schools with age-appropriate work and discussions around the topic of nuclear engineering, for example during physics lessons. Therefore, we offer a workshop program at no charge for students in their two senior years that has been designed in cooperation with the Institute of Nuclear Engineering and Technology Transfer of RWTH Aachen University.
NUCLEAR ENGINEERING IN 4 SCHOOL LESSONS
The program is designed to give students an insight into the field of nuclear engineering in four school lessons. The first three periods deal with the basics of radioactivity, the benefits and risks of ionizing radiation, the functionality of a nuclear reactor and its safety facilities, the essential features of the nuclear fuel cycle as well as the problem of disposing radioactive waste. To conclude the program, the last period is intended to provide students the opportunity to ask more questions and discuss current developments and events.
FIELDS OF APPLICATION OF NUCLEAR TECHNOLOGY
This program gives students a comprehensive insight into scientific and technological principles and the diverse fields of application of nuclear technology. Throughout this course, we ensure that the provided information is not influenced by any opinions or trends. The emphasis is placed firmly on teaching the physical and technical relationships and their effects. Consideration is given to the risks associated with nuclear technology and the responsibility to society implied thereby.
